Staff Interview: Lee Seville

An Inside Look at the Staff of GenerateHope:
Who We Are and What We Do

The “boots on the ground”, the staff at GenerateHope, are filled by special people dedicated to creating a safe place for survivors of sex trafficking and helping them heal from trauma.

Lee Seville, Residential Program Specialist

Meet Lee Seville, a longtime advocate for GenerateHope and a woman who commits with her whole heart to the survivors in her life and the core values of GenerateHope.

Lee came to GenerateHope five years ago via the direction of her pastor, Steven Cooper, who thought she would be a great fit for our organization and the work we do. Steven was right! Lee’s heart is full of love for so many around her, but in particular for survivors of trafficking. She laughs with them, bonds with them, good heartedly teases them and then takes it right back! She says one of the most important things that keeps her dedicated through challenging times is the joy that the women at GenerateHope bring to her. It is apparent that she also brings joy to them.

Lee started as a resident guide, living with the residents and helping guide them as they arrived unsure, scared, and often with little trust for those around them. In her own special way, she formed relationships with each new resident, breaking down barriers and building bridges. It didn’t take long for Lee to move up to Lead Resident Guide and from there to Residential Program Specialist. Now she is lending her skills to our budding Aftercare Program. In this position she will maintain those bridges built with care for women after they leave GenerateHope and branch out on their own.

In closing, Lee shares a quote: “‘There are no hopeless circumstances, only people. Once people get true hope, circumstances cannot stay the same.’ I love this quote because it reveals to me that hope can be generated, which is what we do here, and it is an honor to be a part of that.”
